This phase aims at developing the volunteer by turning the validation and/or advice into a personal action plan.

On the basis of the valued competences and clarity about the missing competences or available strong competences, a personal professional development plan (PDP, Personal Development Plan) can be made up. This plan is about learning activities that will be done in formal or non-formal learning environments, in work situations, during a change of position, by offering coaching or by creating an environment in which informal learning is stimulated.

This step acts as a follow-up about the personalised lifelong learning strategy for a volunteer to follow. Such a strategy is designed on the basis of the dialogue between the volunteer’s validated competences, the articulated need for competences by the organisation where the volunteer is active as well as the labour demand which the volunteer may apply to.
